Robinson Landing, a current Hopke project, was recently featured on Eater.com with an article discussing the new waterfront bar that will be made of converted shipping containers. Robinson Landing is a mixed-use development replacing a former warehouse in the heart of Old Town Alexandria. Hopke has contracts with EYA, who is building the townhouses on the site, as well as Donohoe, who is constructing the condo building. Hopke’s scope on this unique project included all of the wet utility infrastructures for 26 townhomes, 3 condo buildings, and a dining facility in a preserved historic structure. Hopke’s work also included support excavation for the waterfront seawall. The excavation on this project also uncovered historical shipping artifacts that required archaeological exploration and recovery.
