W.B. Hopke Co. was founded in 1956 and through the years has successfully delivered thousands of wet utility projects to clients throughout the Washington Metropolitan area. Frank Hopke takes us back to one of the more memorable projects, the I-495 HOT Lanes Construction Project that began in 2009. It was a Fluor-Lane design-build joint venture project and Hopke was contracted to perform many utility extensions for Fluor-Lane for the widening of I-495 and construction of the HOT Lanes. Much of the work was deep and complicated. The subcontractors included Midwest Mole and Loudoun Tunneling. It was a very public project because of the location and satisfying to be part of such an important project.

W.B. Hopke is a fourth generation, family-run construction business focused on building high quality utility infrastructure and lifelong careers. Hopke is located in Alexandria, VA and works throughout DC, Maryland, and Virginia. With almost 70 years of experience, Hopke prides itself on repeat customers across all kinds of market segments – schools, churches, data centers, distribution facilities, multi-family, mixed use, residential subdivisions, senior living, self storage, heavy highway, retail, commercial office, automotive, stream restoration, and parks.
