Hopke History

I-495 HOT Lanes Construction

W.B. Hopke Co. was founded in 1956 and through the years has successfully delivered thousands of wet utility projects to clients throughout the Washington Metropolitan area. Frank Hopke takes us back to one of the more memorable projects, the I-495 HOT Lanes Construction Project that began in 2009.

US Coast Guard Headquarters in Southeast DC

In 2010, W.B. Hopke worked on a very interesting project for the US Coast Guard Headquarters in Southeast DC in the historic neighborhood of Anacostia. Hopke worked with Clark Construction, the general contractor for this project. The size of this project site was very large and complicated. The work had to be completed quickly, so Hopke had a very aggressive schedule. There was also some historic preservation of the old St. Elizabeths Psychiatric Hospital included with this work.

Kingstowne Community (1987-2005)

Not many companies can attribute a specific client and project for helping launch their company to the next level, but certainly the award in Kingstowne, located in Fairfax County, VA, set the foundation for Hopke’s growth.

Belle Haven Country Club Driving Range Project (2004)

W.B. Hopke Co. was founded in 1956 and for more than 67 years has distinguished itself as one of the most trusted wet utility contractors in the Washington-Metro area. As they reflect about their years in business, they thought it would be nice to revisit and share some of the interesting projects that meant so much to Hopke and our clients and that helped Hopke become the company they are today.
